MerseyCats on the Royal Daffodil
2002
The Royal Iris a futuristic Ferry Boat built in 1950
and now rotting away in a dock in London hosted many Rock
'n'
Roll shows during the
sixties. Merseycats
Chairman Wally Shepard commented
"What a horrible end for a unique piece of Liverpool
history. Surely there should have been a place reserved
or this glorious reminder of those heady days of the
sixties somewhere in the Albert Dock". In
2002, in what was to be the last ever Rock concert on the
boat, Merseycats hosted a fabulous show and we've managed
to get hold of some exclusive pictures courtesy of
King Size Taylor who is now playing
again in Hamburg. Read about the demise of the Royal Iris the
Royal daffodil's sister ship here
